When I play my sims, I am always conscious about their life counters (displayed at the lower right side). Everything must be in green. It may not always reach the full meter, but to achieve a balanced existence for my sims (and avoid unhappy characters), I always make sure that I do tasks that put them on the "green" zone.
Too bad though that life does not offer us the same guidance or clues.
When I do too much housework (clearing dishes, cooking, laundry), then I always worry if I am neglecting my hubby at home.
Or if I work from home even on weekends or weekdays, then it reduces our quality time together.
Or if I do too much outside activities like yoga or gym, could I be neglecting my work and my hubby?
Or if I like to do cooking and baking too much, then am I neglecting the livelihood that makes the money pour in?
I consciously try to balance all my activities. And my P and I have decided that we should have one shared activity together (aside from date night). So far, we have decided on a monthly massage but it doesn't seem too much of an activity lying down. Hahaha. We're trying to go for jogging but our athletically inept (and lazy) bodies just won't budge.
Balance. It seems so easy but way too complex to manage once you count real life in. Still in our early months of marriage, P and I are trying to figure this one out. Especially before the children (God willing) arrive.
Then we'd really be in trouble. haha.
